Do halogen spotlights for cielings use more electric than a standard light fitting?
I have fit a run of the mill centre light that uses three 50W halogen bulbs.
No. If your standard fixture takes a 50watt bulb and the Halogen takes a 50watt bulb they burn the same amount of energy.
Although Halogen give a crisper, whiter light and you may be able to have a lower wattage bulb for the same illumination.
